I am a postdoctoral research fellow affiliated with Umeå's philosophy department and the Centre for Biomedical Ethics and Law at the KU Leuven. My current research project, which is funded by the Swedish Research Council (2018-00679), investigates what duties we as private individuals and as societies more broadly have to protect other people from chronic loneliness.

Other research interests include migration; cultural and religious diversity; extremism; social taboos, family ethics; and bioethics. My work has appeared in journals such as Journal of Applied Philosophy; Politics, Philosophy and Economics, Moral Philosophy and Politics; Res Publica; and Medicine, Health Care and Philosophy, and I have forthcoming publications in e.g. Ethical Theory and Moral Practice, Ethnicities, and Kennedy Institute of Ethics Journal.

I was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity in Göttingen, Germany. Prior to that, I studied political science (PhD, MRes, European University Institute); philosophy (MPhil, St Andrews; MA, King's College London); and Arts and Culture (BA, Maastricht University). In 2015, I was a visiting student research collaborator at Princeton University.
